We have 9 hectares of natural land for sale or rent in Central Portugal (in the area of Penamacor) that are very suitable for building an off grid homestead. The land consists of two plots. One is 5 hectares of open land (see picture above) with a small lake in the middle that holds water throughout the year. Great for swimming in summer and watering the plants and trees. There are 70 adult olive trees and we planted a variety of 50 other trees like citrus, apple, pear, almond, chestnut, fig, cherry and more.

The second plot is about 3 hectares of overgrown forest with very old cork trees and some olive trees. It also has about 1 hectare of flat surface that is very suitable for growing vegetables and herbs.

There are no buildings on the land so you can stay on the land in a camper, caravan, tiny house or yurt. Or you can apply for a building permit.

We used to stay on the land in a tent or camper van. For electricity we used solar panels.

We plan to sell the land because we can only be there for 4-6 weeks per year and that is not enough to really develop the land into a homestead with a food forest. The asking price is €139.000. We are also open to long term rental of the land.
